DESCRIPTION:Alamo Falls Loop in Catalina State Park\, December 16th\, meeting at RLC at 7:50 AM to sign in and form carpools to Catalina State Park. This is a lovely hike up to Alamo Canyon Falls\, looping back through several washes to the trailhead for 3.5 miles. The elevation change is generally gradual\, with some step-ups and step-downs. Hiking poles are recommended. Devotions will be held during our snack break. Driver donation will be $2 toward the state park entrance fee\, unless you have a state park pass. SUMMARY:Desert Wanderers: December Hikes and Walks
DESCRIPTION:Walking Tour of St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Monastery on December 11th\, meeting at 9:20AM in the southwest corner of the parking lot of the Golden Goose on Oracle Rd. We will sign in and form carpools to the monastery. We will walk through the lush grounds and visit eight temples of worship. This is a sacred place for contemplation. To visit they a have strict dress code. Women: long skirt\, long sleeve shirt\, scarf over your head\, no open toe shoes unless with socks. Men: long sleeve shirt\, long pants\, no open toe shoes\, and no baseball caps. For specifics\, check their website: https://stanthonysmonastery.org/pages/day-visitors-guide. If you don’t have these\, they will provide freshly washed items. Devotions will be held in a sitting area. A free will offering can be given in the gift shop.
