Take a Deeper Dive into Faith

Mondays 10:30 AM - Noon, Starting January 29th
In the Sanctuary

We are a Bible church, but not all of us in this church have the same knowledge, understanding, or interpretation of the Bible. Join Pastor Erin for a fun, stimulating, enlightening and challenging look at scripture.

Using the book, "Making Sense of the Bible," by Adam Hamilton, we will engage on the history of Scripture, the context of the Old and New Testaments, the authority of Scripture in our lives and various ways to interpret. Then, we will begin to discuss topics such as violence, suffering, science, sexuality, tattoos, and end times with our various understandings of scripture. In this class we seek to hear and understand one another and not defend or explain our own understandings.

The book is available in the church office and provided to you through the tithes and offerings of the congregation. We are also looking into an interactive online option.

Join Rob Hartmann in his study of the Gospel of Luke. We will be using Adam Hamilton's book LUKE: Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts, and Outlaws. This is an exciting lenten study. We will meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:30 - 8 PM starting January 9th in Katie's Quarters. Books are available in the church offices.

What does it mean to be Lutheran? Who was Martin Luther? What do Lutherans believe? What are the most distinctive themes of Lutheran theology? Discover the answers to these questions and much more in the 4-session video class below.

Men are invited to participate in this small-group lay-facilitated study. The Serendipity Bible for Groups, 4th Edition is used. Copies will be available at the sessions. Members of the group will take turns facilitating using the guide questions in the Serendipity Bible. The group typically meets October through May on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays, 8:00 am to 9:00 am in Luther’s Lair in the Outreach Center at the Oro Valley Campus

Women of all ages and denominations are invited to participate in this small group ministry. Bible-related books are studied. A designated facilitator guides the group through the study. The group meets year-round on Wednesday mornings.

Borrowing from best-selling studies by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Lisa Harper, Kelly Minter, and Jennifer Rothschild, this 6-session study explores crucial moments in the lives of five Old Testament figures--Esther, Gideon, Malachi, Nehemiah, and Hosea. Through their stories, discover how God uses the lives of ordinary people for His glory and the good of His people. Strengthen your faith as you walk alongside these larger-than-life figures who all chose to obey God no matter the circumstances.

Come and join us every third Saturday, from 9-11:30 for coffee, snacks and fellowship, followed by a film and small discussion groups. Sign up here or at orovalley.org. Space is limited. The first meeting in May will be on May 25th; subsequent meetings will be on the third Saturday of each month. The Workbook can be purchased on Amazon for $15.99. The Syllabus will be passed out at the first meeting on May 25th. If you are currently in the Faithful Living Fellowship "Basket Case" study, and have told your Facilitator that you wish to continue, there is no need to sign up again here.
